The battle of Princeton was a very short battle in New Jersey of 1777. Washington and his men had been tired of traveling through many days and nights. General Cornwallis and the British army have been following the army. They know every place of where the men were.
In December 1777 George Washington and his crew were crossing Lake Champlain ,that night Washington and his men were traveling to a near by town when they heard news of a British troops not far away from the town. They quickly made plans for escaping that night. They were lucky to get out of there fast because Cornwallis men were just then coming into the town.
Over in New York Washington had many troops to fight tiny British troops. While Washington's men walked throughthe night word came in from Albany that Cornwallis and his full army camping out in a town in New Jersey called Princeton. When the news reached Washington they were in the town right next to Princeton they got out of town as soon as possible. They reached the town the next morning with Cornwallis and his men still there. Washington decided that they were going to do a surprise attack. It worked and later Cornwallis and his men surrendered that meant that Washington and his men had won the Battle of Princeton.
